The National Archives of Estonia (Rahvusarhiiv) is the central institution for archival administration in Estonia, with departments in Tallinn, Tartu, Rakvere, and Valga. Our mission is to preserve and provide access to the documented memory of Estonian society—ensuring transparency, safeguarding rights, and maintaining cultural heritage for current and future generations.

As part of the Ministry of Education and Research, Rahvusarhiiv collects, preserves, and provides access to records of historical, cultural, and societal significance—ranging from medieval parchments to born-digital records.

We are committed to supporting digital transformation through AI and Machine Learning by offering Datasets, Models, and Spaces that help unlock the richness of our collections.
